For the past seventeen days, I have been taking part in 'Word Bohemia's Daily Writing Prompt' ~

Check out mine and others interesting diversions on some provoking images.

Here's day ten ~

Day 10 ~ Hiroshima

The beautiful Japanese woman
Led the others as he watched,
Expressionless, head bowed,

The hundreds injured made no sounds,
A whispered 'Tasukete kure'
In the formal manner.

They thought it was 'molotoffano hanakago'
Or 'molotov flower basket'
But the burns were not in keeping,

Tanimoto, the reverend,
Saw hundreds flee the fires
Over the Koi and Kannon bridges,

Flesh hung from bodies,
Arms wide as if carrying a burden,

The woman he did not know,
But all came to him towards the Red Cross hospital,

White clothes repelled the flash,
But dark clothes absorbed it,

Flowers, he thought, such beauty in this dusk,
From their kimonos burnt into skin.
